NEW DELHI: Along with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, the Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched another smartphone in India. Dubbed Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, this is the global debut of the smartphone. The company has launched the device in India first and it will be rolled out to other regions later.
Price and availability
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a starting price tag of Rs 13,999. The company has priced the 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM version at Rs 13,999 and Rs 16,999 respectively. Going by the price the smartphone will compete against the Honor 7X, Moto G5S Plus and the Honor 9i.
Specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a dual rear camera setup. The smartphone sports 12MP and 5MP sensors at the rear end with LED flash. The 12MP primary camera has aperture f/2.2 and the secondary 5MP shooter has aperture f/2.0. The front of the device houses a 20MP selfie camera with LED flash. This is the first Xiaomi smartphone to come with a 20MP selfie camera. The front camera also comes with beautify 4.0 which further improves and enhances you selfies. Users can also use the front camera to unlock the smartphone.
The smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with MIUI 9 and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor. The device also sports a full screen display just like the Redmi Note 5. The handset features a 5.99-inch full HD+ display with 1080x2160 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. As mentioned above, the smartphone comes in two variants, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and 6GB RAM and 64GB storage.
The smartphone is also backed by a 4000mAh battery and offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options.
Along with the two smartphones, the company has also launched its first smart TV in India. This is the first time that Xiaomi has ventured in the consumer electronics market in India. The Xiaomi Mi LED smart TV 4 is an ultra slim TV and it comes with 4K resolution.
